    Abstract

    Unsustainable practices over the past decades have causes a critical issue of global warming. It is important that immediate actions are taken due to the alarming issue of environmental problems. Therefore, sustainable development is essential in order to secure the environment for the future generation. The government over the recent years has been trying to achieve the sustainable development standards. However, the government will need the participation of the society in order to achieve the requirements of sustainable development. Therefore, the government has been trying to promote sustainable development concepts to the society. The purpose of this research is to find out the attitude and the current awareness of the UK society towards the government’s sustainable development expectations. It is important to understand the society’s attitude and to identify the barriers in achieving sustainability in order to be able to promote efficiently the sustainable development concepts to the society.
