    Abstract

The growth and development of digital media has had a noticeable impact on the area of figure sculpture in a contemporary context. This project aims to understand how this impact is perceived and in what direction the medium is moving. Interviews were conducted with three prominent figure sculptors while relevant research was analysed in conjunction with these interviews. The findings indicate an increasing movement towards digital media within figure sculpture. This will have an impact on the advancement and democratization of future technologies such as 3D printing.
