    Abstract

This study investigates how the open source blogging platform Wordpress can be used to create online stores and manage the sites content. Focusing on Small, low budget businesses that cannot build or pay for the creation of an e-commerce site, this study examines the practicalities of this possible solution. Through examination of the technology and functions available, the usability of the application and management, and the personal opinions of web developers both for and against Wordpress in e-commerce via interviews, it is ultimately concluded that although Wordpress Is sufficient for handling a large amount of content and creating professional websites, there is still a need for development in the use of e-commerce functions.
