    Strategic Property Management is a concept not widely implemented by companies in the UK. The integral inclusion of property in business strategy and the realisation of its value have numerous benefits for an organisation. This research investigates into the subject area of strategic property management and property asset management within the supermarket industry. The main focus is on how Tesco PLC has adopted strategic property management within their business to determine the extent to which they have used property to their advantage in the United Kingdom. The research follows through a literature search into the area of SPM, with data collection on the supermarket industry and Tesco. The research findings conclude with the realisation of Tesco as a rapid and effective player in the property industry due to its use of SPM. The analysis shows how Tesco has used its real estate and land holdings, in part, to meet its objectives and expand to its market leader position today, thus using property to its advantage.
