This project is the exploration into the development of a PCR Blast (Basic Logical Alignment Search Tool) web based system on behalf of Eli Lilly Ltd. The main focus of the project is to explore and research the technologies needed to create a system to have direct access to the global genbank database to allow PCR Blast alignment searches to be preformed. The research also extends into following a company specific methodology to create an artifact that Lilly biologists can utilize to perform PCR Primer Blasts searches in a controlled environment. This has provided an excellent opportunity to further explore and research part of computer bio-forensics whilst following a company standard methodology to create an innovative web service tool for scientists to use.
