    Abstract

    The project explored the effects rapid urbanisation has had on the quality of the built environment in Istanbul, particularly whether new buildings there were fully compliant with the seismic building codes and whether this might affect the resilience of Istanbul's buildings to the frequent earthquakes in the region.
