    Abstract

This research paper is an investigation into property development in Abu Dhabi, this means an examination into how the emirate of Abu Dhabi has transformed from being one of the poorest places on the planet, to one of the richest, and what they have undertaken in response to their new found riches. This project will involve extensive research into the Urban Planning Council (UPC) of Abu Dhabi and how their strategy and operations are implemented, Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 (their urban structure framework plan), and Abu Dhabi’s rapid growth, future world perception and its property development processes and impact. The paper concludes with some recommendations regarding issues which should be addressed and reviewed to assist in the future property development process.
