This project set out to create a generic mobile application template providing a set of core location aware features that could be used across a wide range of different areas with the aim of providing reduced development times for other similar applications. Within this project a prototype application was created, using golf as its context, in order to demonstrate the potential use of the template in creating a mobile application. This report details the information researched that lead to the decision to develop for the Windows Phone 7 operating system, and the design guidelines that had to be followed. A set of detailed designs were created for both the application template and the prototype which were then followed accurately during the implementation phase. The prototype created underwent a set of tests analysing it against the initial requirements, as well as being subject to a variety of different user evaluations with the help of different demonstrations. Overall this was a challenging but enjoyable project, throughout which a variety of new skills were learnt and many possible future developments available to make use of this idea were identified.
