    Abstract

Portfolios have been used for many years as a means of recruitment and selection, traditionally in creative industries such as Art, Photography and Architecture, whilst in most other fields the covering letter and accompanying CV are usually the standard. This project identifies the scope of an electronic portfolio application for the recruitment of final year students and recent graduates across a variety of fields, demonstrating and documenting their skills, work and experiences online. An evolutionary approach to development was taken in order to the ascertain requirements through several stages of evaluation and consultation with the user population and through production of several prototype applications a set of recommendations have been provided to assist development of electronic portfolio applications in the future.
