    Abstract

A discussion of the representation of women in dystopian fiction, closely analysing several novels and various critical texts. The works of writers Margaret Atwood and feminist theorist Helene Cixous are particularly influential within this discourse on representation; as well as my own critical assessment of my work in relation to other texts and how they both depict female characters in dystopian fiction.
