    Abstract

    This dissertation will present virtual reality as a concept that is emerging in an unfamiliar contemporary landscape. The author endeavoured to find the extent at which virtual reality, as a gaming platform, will integrate a contemporary audience. While the inherent novel nature of virtual reality results in a topic that is continuously subject to adjustments both technologically and commercially, the dissertation aims to bring a impartial analysis of the current state of virtual reality. Various academic papers and secondary research will bring supporting evidence to inserted observations. Topics will equitably alternate between the technical and commercial aspect of the new platform. While the focused question will be answered regardless within the next year, the dissertation offers a certain level of conjecture.
