Throughout further education, students are encouraged to take notes during lecture based courses. Regardless of the method employed to take notes, numerous problems are faced due to the current format of teaching: juggling between taking notes and listening to what the lecturer is saying, discerning which elements of what the lecturer is saying is important, and trying to keep up to speed with the lecturer.
The aim of this paper is to investigate if collaborative note taking could solve the issues stated. This report covers the process of creating a web application for students to collaboratively take notes based upon a video lecture.
