    Abstract

This combined artefact and research paper project, aims to explore the avenues of electronic music the Buchla 200e System 7 offers through the production of a 3 song EP detailing the nuances in the contemporary Drum & Bass genre of Neurofunk and the production of an avant-garde piece reminiscent of the music that it was originally created for; abstract sound art. It will explore the birthing of Buchla instruments and its competitor Moog instruments. It will also analyse the paradigms of West and East Coast Synthesis philosophy and define whether it is still relevant in a modern context.
