    Abstract

    This study looks into the role of a Video Journalist (VJs) and how it has affected that of a Producer within News Production and how the role has evolved due to the combination of roles within the industry. It focuses on the development of Video Journalists in News Production and how this has impacted on production values. To complete this study, a variety of research methods were used to achieve a rounded conclusion to this investigation. Primary research consisted of a short questionnaire and a selection of interviews with Producers, Video Journalists and other News Production crewmembers to get opinions and views from all perspectives. Secondary research was used to give a better understanding of the development of these roles in the past. This included books, websites and previous studies.
