Marking assignments and providing feedback to students is an
important part of education, but for academics it is also a repetitive and time-consuming task. Research on the popular software tools in use today shows a lack of diverse device support, responsive design, or the benefits of an online system while maintaining offline support. This project develops an artefact addressing these limitations - while also directing focus to improving the efficiency of the system and maximizing user productivity.
Based on requirements and feedback from experienced University lecturers, and using efficient development practices with open-source technologies, the aim for the artefact is to provide an effective platform for designing marking schemes and grading assignments, with
opportunity for future extension or customization. An evaluation is performed, comparing performance to existing solutions in various use-cases; and analyzing feedback from users to direct future work.
