    Abstract

Soccer Scholar Academy, a Hampshire based sub-elite football academy, have been using a paper-based record management system as a solution to managing player, parent, staff, session and team information since the academy was founded. Currently, the academy offers some form of education to over 400 players and coaches across Hampshire. This project looks at creating a cloud-based solution that provides a platform for the academy staff members to process administrative tasks such as team management or organising new sessions and also provide parents with a method of paying for tuition digitally and monitoring their child's attendance and progress much closer. To begin, interviews with stakeholders were held and an initial set of requirements was produced. As a result of the requirement specification, six core components were discovered, all of which needed to be researched further. The project reviewed the core components such as database normalisation and prototyping methods and analysed each through a literature review. The current solution was analysed comprehensively to create the optimal design for the problem situation. Low fidelity prototypes were created in collaboration with the academy that ultimately formed the design for the main prototype revision. The initial prototype was revised on two separate occasions after usability tests had been completed by academy staff members. The majority of the requirements set at the beginning of the project were met successfully, the development of the prototype will continue after this project has been completed on April 22nd 2016
