    Abstract

The project is an experimental study about sorting algorithms evaluation . The chosen sorting algorithms in this study are Bubble sort, Insertion sort, Heap Sort, Counting sort, Selection Sort and Quick sort. The programming language chosen to conduct the experiment is JAVA. The metrics used for the sorting algorithm is evaluated in terms of execution time , memory space and the power consumed. The experiment would be repeated across the aforementioned sorting algorithms with a same set of random data with an increasing array size. The project adopts software testing life cycle methodology. The project also focuses on the topic of sustainable computing ensuring that the most efficient algorithm is identified.
