With an increasing number of students choosing to attend university, the uptake of student housing accommodating these students is surging. Much like all rented accommodation, measures are implemented by Estate Agents and Landlords to recover the cost of damage inflicted by its tenants, whilst also providing a means of safeguarding a tenant's deposit. With research uncovering the dated method of paper inventories in use, and accommodation problems still primarily reported over the phone and by email, students disclosed the lengthiness and poor usability when using these services. A solution is proposed to enhance the process of inventory fulfilment and the logging of problems, while also enabling quick and easy management by agents and landlords. By implementing an online application, accessibility by all involved audiences is maximised, at the same time as providing advanced functionality/ with augmented usability. This projects solution aims to aid students with housing problem reporting and paperwork completion, while enabling landlords to store all information digitally; reducing paperwork and administration costs.
