    Abstract

    This study on the road to celebrity in the modern age was conducted to explore the different pathways that lead to fame and if and how the age of digital media has affected the process. This paper offers an insight into the way in which the traditional route to fame has fluctuated due to the impact of the internet. The term celebrity is subjective by its very nature and this study aims to make the term more distinct by offering a brief history of celebrity and the changes that have occurred due to the internet. In conclusion this analysis found that traditional concepts of fame are still present in modern society but the internet has had such a huge impact that many individuals have had to adapt their particular route to fame.
