    Abstract

This dissertation aims to explore photography, its relationship with war and how specific subject matters have been represented. It is going to look at photography as a medium and looking at case studies and specific projects or images relevant to a theme rather than looking at the genre of war photography chronologically. This has felt like a more interesting and relevant way to look at war photography and what it represents rather than looking at the history and growth of war photography.
