    Abstract

This dissertation critically examines the role, training and support of RO volunteer panel members within the Youth Justice system in England and Wales.
It has been 12 years since RO panels became operational and they now have a prominent position within the youth justice process. Initial evaluation of the pilots into the role, training and support of panel members is now dated and this study seeks to contribute to the gap in literature, which affords the volunteer perspective into the role, training and support they receive.
