    Abstract

The construction industry in Turkey plays a vital role in the national economy and in social development. It is therefore essential that the industry performs efficiently and offers value for money. This dissertation considers the role of the supply chain in project success and ways in which effective supply chain management can enhance performance in the Turkish construction industry.
The research is based on comparative case studies using secondary data gathered from a number of reliable sources. The findings of the research include the fact that integrated supply chains can reduce project costs and eliminate uncertainties in project delivery. Effective supply chain management includes risk and value management, knowledge management and stakeholder management. These can be achieved through commitment to collaboration, protecting supply profits and using technology such as Building Information Modelling.
