    Abstract

    This study has looked at the reasons behind why television consumption is changing and how. This was completed by utilizing results from two questionnaires conducted as primary research and exploring other secondary research found. This research covered; the history of television, the main and current providers of online television, what the future could possibly hold for television and how television has evolved over time. A conclusion was established with a number of elements creating the change. These are; IPTV, which is the technology used for video to be streamed and viewed online, new technology with better software and hardware becoming available and a major element of change is the services now available who can provide exclusive content and are easily accessible.
