    Abstract

This dissertation is a translation of 'Herr Wolle lässt noch einmal grüßen', and a commentary for it. It identifies the main target audience for this translation. It addresses the differences in tone and style of writing in biographies after the Second World War and how they developed. Then it focuses on these developments in Sibylle Krause-Burger's biography and how it differs from other texts. It underlines the differences in the used lexicon as well as form, the structural presentation. It also logically implies the propensity to opt for communicative translation in combination with semantic and literary translation. Finally I argue that the preservation of the narrative tone is crucial in order to maintain authenticity.
