The need to eat is something we all have in common. However preparing and eating the same meals over and over again can become tedious. A web application has been developed enabling users to share inspiration for trying new recipes. Users can search for recipes by specifying parameters such as the ingredients they would like to cook with. Alternatively they can upload the details of one of their own recipes to share with the community.
The application makes use of the semantic web and linked data to ensure that all data is both standardised and in a format which is readable by humans and machines. A public API has been created to enable the possibility of sharing recipes with other applications in the future.
