    Abstract

    This project looks into the carbon emissions of the United Kingdom’s construction industry. The goal, through primary and secondary research, is to see if alternative concretes could reduce the overall level of emissions. Laboratory testing and carbon analysis will be carried out on the concretes and they will be assessed on how easily they could be introduced and what differences they could potentially make. From the results it was found that a significant reduction in emissions could be made if the alternative concretes were introduced, however this could only occur with a massive upheaval of standard procedure and commitment to the environmental cause.
