    Abstract

The focus of this assignment was to evaluate whether denture marking should be standard practice at manufacture in the United Kingdom (UK). The benefits of denture marking are evident in literature; however within the UK it is rarely practiced. Critical appraisal of literature on denture marking was carried out and a telephone audit was conducted. The findings indicate that many patients are unaware of denture marking, however present positive attitudes towards it. However, amongst the dental professionals there are differences in opinions. These potential barriers need to be further explored.
