    Abstract

This project is looking at the various ways social networking can work alongside and enhance the success of the television industry, in particular a television channel. Due to the rising popularity of social networking amongst the majority of people, it has become impossible for
the television industry to ignore and therefore the industry is fast adapting its ways to incorporate and make use of the social networking medium. This project researches into ways that a television channel can successfully use this platform and reap the most effective results. The project discusses the changes that television has made, analyses the ways that a television channel can measure data and explores the benefits television channels are getting since this collaboration. Social networking is currently working alongside a television channel effectively and it can continue to do so, by ensuring easy convenient communication with audiences, enabling a channel to measure the data it receives and gives a channel the option to begin incorporating the two screen experience; changing the way that people use social networking with television forever.
