    Abstract

The focus of this study was to determine the consequences to the road transport infrastructure caused by the construction of new housing developments in Southern Hampshire.

This study provides a broad view of traffic congestion, road construction, housing development structure and the alternatives to private vehicle use. Emphasising the importance that a solution must be made in the near future to reduce the risk of further congestion.

Evidence was established through a selection of primary and secondary data collection, drawing upon works by previous authors to fortify my research argument and methods such as a questionnaire to analyse the results of local road users.
